Udupi, Aug 3: K L Srinivasa Murthy (84), husband of renowned Kannada litterateur Vaidehi, passed away on Sunday, August 3 at a private hospital in Manipal.
Originally a native of Shivamogga, the late Srinivasa Murthy was deeply involved in cultural and literary circles. He was associated with the Vidya Ganapathi Seva Samiti and shared close friendships with many stalwarts of the music fraternity. He also ran a medical store under the name 'Padmashree' in Shivamogga for several years.

Murthy was not only a cultural enthusiast but also served in the media space for a brief period as an advertisement agent for the Kannada daily Udayavani. He was also actively involved with the Jaycees (JCI) organisation in Shivamogga during his younger days.
Later in life, he moved to Manipal, where he spent his retirement years at his residence named ‘Iruvanthige’.
He is survived by his wife Vaidehi, a celebrated name in Kannada literature, and two daughters—Nayana Kashyap and Pallavi Rao —both of whom have made their mark as writers.
The news of his demise has left the Kannada literary and cultural community in mourning, with many remembering his quiet yet impactful contributions to society.
