Veteran Tamil actor Madhan Bob passes away at 71

Chennai, Aug 3: Popular Tamil film actor and comedian Madhan Bob, known for his infectious laughter and memorable expressions, passed away on Saturday evening at his residence in Adyar. He was 71 and had been battling cancer for some time, according to a source close to the family.

Born as S Krishnamoorthy, Madhan Bob was the eighth child in his family. A multi-talented artist, he made his mark not only as a comic actor but also as a musician. Over the decades, he acted alongside stalwarts like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Ajith, Surya, and Vijay.

He was also a familiar face on television, especially as a judge on the hit Sun TV comedy show Asatha Povathu Yaaru?. Some of his standout roles include Diamond Babu in Thenali and Manager Sundaresan in Friends. Whether in a lead comic role or as a supporting character, his timing and expressions consistently brought joy to audiences.

The Tamil film industry and fans mourn the loss of a beloved entertainer who brought smiles to millions.
