Rajshri Deshpande on ‘Rangeen’: It’s a mirror to the messy, unapologetic truth of women’s lives

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Jul 24: Actress Rajshri Deshpande is all set to make waves with her upcoming streaming series Rangeen, premiering July 25 on Prime Video. Known for her powerful and nuanced performances, Deshpande takes on the role of Naina—a woman driven by an unapologetic hunger for desire, meaning, and self-discovery.

In Rangeen, viewers are invited into an intimate and unfiltered portrayal of the emotional lives of women, as well as the often-unspoken strength of emotionally aware men. The show breaks away from traditional narratives, offering a raw exploration of identity, vulnerability, and human connection.

Speaking about what drew her to the role, Deshpande shared, “Rangeen isn’t just a twisted relationship drama; it’s a mirror to the complexities we carry in our hearts and minds. Naina’s yearning isn’t just about passion—it’s about pushing against the limitations society places on women like her. She’s messy, she’s searching, and she’s real.”

Deshpande praised the creative vision behind the series, highlighting how co-creators Amir Rizvi and Amardeep Galsin allowed her the freedom to fully inhabit Naina. “Our conversations gave me the space to be Naina—not just play her. And with Kabir Khan backing the project and the support of Prime Video, the journey felt that much more significant,” she added. “When Rangeen drops, I hope people don’t just watch it—I hope they feel seen.”

Directed by Pranjal Dua and Kopal Naithani, and produced by Kabir Khan and Rajan Kapoor, Rangeen is a bold, empathetic, and unflinching story that challenges societal norms, celebrates emotional honesty, and dares to show women not as symbols, but as complex individuals.

The series premieres tomorrow, July 25, exclusively on Prime Video.
