Blast at LA Sheriff's training site claims three deputies lives

Los Angeles, Jul 18: Tragedy struck the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department on Friday morning as a powerful explosion rocked one of its training facilities in East Los Angeles, claiming the lives of three sheriff’s deputies.

As per reports by Fox News, citing sources from the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal incident occurred around 7:30 am (local time) while regular training operations were underway.

Officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed that multiple ambulances were rushed to the scene to handle injuries stemming from what is suspected to be a sudden explosion. The cause of the blast, however, remains unknown at this stage.
Evacuation procedures were immediately initiated at the site to ensure the safety of other personnel present during the incident.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been roped in to assist local authorities in probing the cause and circumstances surrounding the explosion. A detailed investigation is currently underway.

Further details are awaited as officials continue to assess the situation. The sheriff’s department and local authorities are yet to release an official statement naming the deceased deputies.
