New Delhi, Jul 18: In a chilling case from Delhi’s Dwarka, a 36-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his wife and her lover, who is also his cousin, police said on Friday.
The incident came to light after a PCR call was received from Mata Rooprani Maggo Hospital in Uttam Nagar on July 13, reporting the death of Karan Dev due to electrocution.

According to the police, Karan was first drugged with sleeping pills before being electrocuted by his wife and her partner. After the murder, Karan’s wife rushed to his family’s home and claimed he had suddenly collapsed, prompting relatives to shift him to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Initially, Karan’s family did not suspect foul play and even wanted to forgo a post-mortem. However, authorities proceeded with the autopsy at Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital due to the victim’s young age and suspicious circumstances.
Days later, Karan’s younger brother, Kunal Dev, approached the police with evidence—phone chats between the wife and her alleged lover plotting the murder. The accused lover is the son of Karan’s uncle, police said.
Based on the evidence, a case under Section 103 (punishment for murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered. Further investigation is underway.
