Mangaluru: Ladyhill Victoria High School celebrates feast of Mount Carmel

Mangaluru, Jul 18: The Mount Carmel Feast was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Ladyhill Victoria High School on July 15 in the school hall. The event was graced by the esteemed Sr Rosemarie AC, a renowned educator and a distinguished guest of honour.

The programme commenced with an invocation and prayer service, setting a reverent tone for the celebration. This was followed by a vibrant welcome dance. Students Shaivi and Dishali delivered the welcome speech, introducing Sister Rosemary and extending warm greetings to all the attendees.

Sr Rosemary AC, a distinguished educator known for her numerous publications on value education and her dedication to teaching catechism, particularly to the 10th standard students, was honoured as the chief guest. She is admired for her dynamic personality and exceptional oratory skills, and under her guidance, students have consistently achieved excellent results in their exams.

The celebrations featured a thought-provoking skit illustrating the significance of the Mount Carmel feast. The skit depicted Mother Mary handing over the scapular to Saint Simon Stock, emphasizing the spiritual importance of the feast. This was followed by an engaging quiz session involving students from the entire school, aimed at enhancing their understanding of the feast's history and significance.

A beautiful dance performance depicting devotion towards Mother Mary added a spiritual touch to the programme. Additionally, a heartfelt skit portraying a mother's sacrifices for her family and children was performed, highlighting the virtues of love and selflessness.

In her address, chief guest Sr Rosemary emphasized the importance of the Mount Carmel feast and elaborated on the various works and missions undertaken by the Carmelites, inspiring the students to embody similar values.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Jiya, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. The entire programme was skilfully hosted by Ria and Mansi, who ensured seamless coordination and presentation.

Overall, the celebration was a meaningful and inspiring event that deepened the students' understanding of the spiritual and cultural significance of the Mount Carmel Feast.
