Hyderabad, Jul 15: Telangana witnessed two deeply troubling incidents on Tuesday, resulting in multiple deaths and raising serious questions about law and order in different parts of the state.
In Peddapalli district, a violent clash between two groups left two people dead and three others critically injured. The incident took place in Suglampalli village of Sultanabad mandal, during a meeting called to resolve a domestic dispute between a man and his wife. Elders from both sides had gathered in hopes of reconciliation, but the situation escalated when one group allegedly attacked the other with knives. The victims, identified as Mallesh and Ganesh, died from stab wounds, while three others were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The husband’s family claimed that the woman’s relatives had brought a hired gang to the mediation. Following the assault, the accused fled the scene, prompting a swift response from the police, who have launched a full investigation. Tension remains high in the village.

In a separate and shocking development from Medak district, Congress leader Marelli Anil, 45, died under suspicious circumstances. Initially believed to have succumbed to injuries from a road accident, Anil’s condition took a grim turn when doctors discovered two bullet wounds in his abdomen during medical examination. He was taken to a private hospital in Medak, where he was declared dead. Anil was returning to his native Paithara village in Kulcharam mandal on Monday night when his car reportedly lost control and crashed into a culvert near an electricity substation in Chinnaghanpur. However, the discovery of bullet injuries and recovered shells from the scene cast doubt on the initial assumption. Anil, who also ran a petrol station in Medak, held the position of district SC cell president for the Congress party. His body has been sent for autopsy at the Medak government hospital. Sub-Inspector Mohammed Ghouse stated that all angles are being examined, including the possibility of foul play. Investigations into both incidents are currently underway.
