Mumbai, Jul 12: Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber, 31, is once again in the spotlight this time, not just for his latest album Swag, but for a series of deeply emotional and cryptic posts on Instagram that have left fans both concerned and confused. Amid the rising chatter online, Bollywood actor-singer Shruti Haasan has offered a grounded perspective on the global star's state of mind.

In a candid conversation on The Ranveer Show podcast hosted by Ranveer Allahabadia (BeerBiceps), Shruti, 39, addressed the issue with honesty and empathy. When asked if she likes Bieber’s music, she replied frankly, “I don’t like his music. And I don’t know him, so I have no opinion.” Recalling his breakout track, she added, “It’s too happy. I think I heard that first song of his that put me off — Baby.”

While not a fan of his music, Shruti made it clear she resonates with his emotional struggles. When Ranveer observed that Justin “seems to be going through something lately,” Shruti agreed, saying, “Oh definitely!”

Offering a deeper view, she said, “Right now the world is in a very challenging space for everyone. And I feel that everyone is going through a challenging time. It’s just that when you put a camera on it, it’s more obvious. But I promise you it’s not a Justin Bieber thing, it’s a planetary problem currently.”

Shruti also spoke about her own dark phases and how she has learned to navigate them. Sharing advice from her father, cinema legend Kamal Haasan, she said, “He consistently says, ‘Don’t be afraid of pain, no pain, no gain’. If something challenging comes your way, face it. Take it on — practically — and don’t hurt yourself. But don’t fear challenges.”

As Bieber opens up more through his music and public presence, fans around the world are left hoping that his struggles lead to healing. For now, voices like Shruti’s offer much-needed solidarity — reminding everyone that emotional battles aren’t reserved for celebrities, but are a shared human experience.
