Holy Redeemer School holds inspiring investiture ceremony, club inauguration

Beltangady, Jul 10: A memorable investiture ceremony and club inauguration of Holy Redeemer English Medium School was held vibrantly on July 8.

The event began with the welcome of the newly elected school cabinet members, squad leaders, and club leaders accompanied by the school band.

Fr Johnson Sequeira, principal of Lourdes Central School, Mangaluru, was the chief guest. The correspondent Fr Walter D’Mello, and headmaster Fr Clifford Pinto, were also present.

The ceremony began solemnly with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. A prayer song sung by the school choir added a divine reverence to the programme followed by the intentional prayers teacher Vinitha Moras wholeheartedly welcomed the gathering, and the headmaster introduced the chief guest.

The school cabinet and school clubs for the academic year were innovatively inaugurated by the guests, along with the teacher representatives of the cabinet, clubs and squads.

The headmaster led the significant oath of honour, which was taken up by all the leaders, who accepted the duties and responsibilities vested in them. This was followed by the oath-taking ceremony, the most embracing moment of the event, where badges and sashes were conferred upon the leaders. The correspondent invested the badges, the chief guest placed the sashes, and the headmaster presented the flags and congratulated the leaders. The leaders later signed the school cabinet book of rules and regulations.

Teacher Lorna Lobo introduced the school cabinet and opposition members. Teacher Preetha D’Souza introduced the class representatives. Teacher Prabha Gowda introduced the squad leaders, and teacher Saritha Rodrigues introduced the club leaders.

The school cabinet, led by the school pupil leader Ashel D’Souza, narrated the oath to the other cabinet members, where they together pledged to abide by the responsibilities entrusted to them. The leaders then sang a song of cheer and commitment, boldly affirming, "We can!"

On behalf of the student leaders, school pupil leader Ashel D’Souza delivered a speech expressing her gratitude for being elected and emphasized the responsible role of the cabinet in upholding the dignity of the school.

The chief guest, Fr Johnson Sequeira, in his message, apprised the students of the qualities of a true leader and encouraged them to make wise use of every opportunity.

The correspondent, in his motivational address, advised the students to balance academics and extracurricular activities for their overall development.

New watchman for the school Raja B Devadiga was welcomed by the headmaster.

Student Viola D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. Teacher Jonita Correa compered the programme.

The ceremony instilled a spirit of leadership and a sense of responsibility among the students, inspiring them to carry it forward into their future.
