Srinagar, July 7: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday called on the public to stand firm against elements attempting to sow communal discord at the behest of Pakistan, urging unity and vigilance to safeguard peace in the region.
“Those who are trying to create divisions among communities under Pakistan’s influence are enemies of peace and development. The people must identify and isolate such elements,” Sinha said.
The Lt Governor made the remarks during a visit to the Mata Sidh Lakshmi Temple at Teerathraj Lok Bhawan in Anantnag, where he paid respects and participated in a Mahayagya organised by the Teerathraj Sidh Lakshmi Peeth Trust. He offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of Jammu and Kashmir and its people.

Highlighting the cultural and spiritual legacy of the temple, Sinha described Teerathraj Lok Bhawan as a long-standing centre of faith and devotion, underlining its role in promoting spiritual unity. “Our heritage teaches us to respect all religions and see them as different paths leading to the same truth,” he said.
During his visit, the Lt Governor engaged with devotees, offering greetings and blessings, and emphasised the importance of unity in diversity and the values of brotherhood and selfless service.
He also extended his wishes for the upcoming Mahakaal pilgrimage, noting the spirit of harmony visible across the Union Territory. “The atmosphere is one of joy and devotion, with the Shri Amarnathji Yatra underway peacefully and Muharram processions observed with dignity. Today, communities have come together here at Mata Sidh Lakshmi Temple in a celebration of mutual respect,” he said.
Concluding his address, Sinha said this collective celebration of faith and coexistence truly reflects the spirit of Jammu and Kashmir.
