Udupi, Jul 7: Glowinstar Integrated School witnessed a vibrant celebration of Vanamahotsav on July 5, underscoring the importance of environmental protection and sustainable living. Jayashree Kotian, a dedicated social worker recognized for her selfless contributions to society.

The ceremonial planting of a sapling by Jayashree Kotian, along with principal Dr T J Quadros and Headmistress Shantha Fernandes, marked the symbolic beginning of the event. The act served as a powerful reminder that even small actions can pave the way for a greener future. In her address, Jayashree Kotian called upon students to become true guardians of nature. Her speech served as a clarion call, urging everyone to incorporate environmental consciousness into daily life. “Protecting Mother Earth is not just a responsibility, but a moral duty,” she emphasized.

Principal Dr T J Quadros further highlighted the importance of individual responsibility in environmental conservation. He encouraged students to adopt green practices and be role models in their communities.

The cultural programme that followed brought the theme of environmental awareness to life. Students presented energetic dances, a stirring speech, and a motivational song that resonated with the powerful message of ‘Go Green.’ Each performance creatively gave the message of the urgency of protecting our planet and adopting eco-friendly habits.

The event began on a solemn note with a prayer expressing gratitude for the blessings of nature. The welcome address was delivered by Roopesh N Salian, the vote of thanks was proposed by Janesh Amin of class 10. The headmistress, Shantha Fernandes, warmly welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. The event was compered by Fathima.
