Mangaluru, Jul 2: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru organized an orientation programme for the first-year postgraduate students on June 30 at the LCRI Hall.

Dr Surfraz J Hasim, principal of PA First Grade College, Mangaluru, was the chief guest. Dr Alwyn D’Sa, registrar of the College, Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar of the University, Fr Vishwas Misquith, SJ, finance officer of the University, PG directors Dr Loveena Lobo and Dr Asha Abraham were present on the dais.

Dr Asha Abraham welcomed the gathering, followed by the formal inauguration of the first-year PG programmes by all the dignitaries. Dr Loveena Lobo then introduced the heads of various postgraduate departments.

Dr Alwyn D’Sa, vice chancellor (in-charge), addressed the gathering and encouraged the students with his motivational words. He also briefed them on the core values upheld on campus.

Internationally acclaimed mind trainer and motivational speaker, Dr Surfraz J Hasim, conducted a session on the theme “Unlocking hidden power through mind mapping,” which was well received by the participants.

Dr Divya Shetty, assistant professor, PG Chemistry, compered the programme, and Dr Shree Lalitha Suvarna, head of the Department of Biotechnology, proposed the vote of thanks.
