Deva Matha Church Mogarnad celebrates jubilee of community and associations

Bantwal, Jun 30: Deva Matha Church, Mogarnad, celebrated the jubilee of community and associations as part of its 250th jubilee year on Sunday, June 29. All parishioners and associated organisations were invited to join this special occasion.

The event commenced with a solemn Holy Mass and a tribute ceremony. A large gathering of community members and representatives from all church organisations attended. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr Anil Cannute D'Mello, with Fr Sunil George D’Souza, director of Christian Community, diocese of Mangalore, and Fr Naveen Prakash Pinto in attendance.

Following the Mass, the gathering moved to Deva Matha Sabha Bhavan, where the formal programme began with a community prayer led by principal Fr Naveen Prakash Pinto.

In his welcome address, Fr Anil Cannute D'Mello emphasised the need for unity and mutual support within the community. “For a community to flourish under spiritual guidance, it is vital to work hand in hand. When united, no adversity, loss or challenge can defeat us,” he said.

Fr Sunil George D’Souza spoke about the significance of community life and associations, encouraging all to participate actively in their mission and work.

Community leaders, ward representatives, association presidents and secretaries who had rendered dedicated service were honored during the programme.

Also present on the occasion were Br Prinston D’Souza, parish council vice president Santosh D’Souza, secretary Wilfred Lobo, committee coordinator Emiliana D’Cunha, and Deva Matha Convent superior Sister Anni. The event was compered by Carol Crasta.
