Mumbai, Jun 29: Singer Maahi, son of acclaimed playback singer Shaan, has released his new single "Jaan Se Zyada", calling it the most personal and emotionally vulnerable work of his career so far. What makes the song particularly special for him is that it features both his parents in the music video for the very first time.

In an exclusive conversation with reporters, Maahi shared, “This song is extremely special to me because it’s my first with so much emotion and vulnerability. What makes it extra special is that it features my parents. I think I’ll be watching this video all my life.”

"Jaan Se Zyada" features not only Maahi and his parents but also actress Aadhya Anand. The lyrics, penned by noted lyricist Rashmi Virag, are complemented by a soulful composition from the music director duo Zain-Sam.

Speaking about the song’s lyrical depth, Maahi said, “The poetry in the song is very special. It connects with you naturally and adds a personal layer that makes it all the more touching.”

Sharing the track on social media, Maahi captioned the post, "The wait’s finally over and this one’s Jaan Se Zyada beautiful!"

When asked about whether he consciously tried to differentiate this track from his father Shaan’s musical style, Maahi said, “The song is beautiful in itself, and I naturally added my own style to it. But I’m sure if dad had sung it, it would have sounded gorgeous in the signature Shaan style we all love.”

On facing comparisons with his legendary father, Maahi said there’s no pressure directly from Shaan, but acknowledged a sense of responsibility. “There is a legacy to carry forward, and yes, that comes with some pressure. But I believe a little pressure is healthy—it pushes you to work harder.”

With "Jaan Se Zyada", Maahi not only steps further into the limelight but also embraces the emotional nuances of music and family, carving his own path while honouring his roots.
