Mangaluru: Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy felicitates senior writers

Mangaluru, June 29: The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, under the leadership of its president Joachim Sanny Alvares, recently paid tribute to veteran Konkani writers for their invaluable contributions to Konkani language and literature. The academy members, along with fellow writers, visited senior authors to hold discussions and honour them for their lifelong service.

Veteran writer Donath D’Almeida, known for consistently writing letters to editors and sharing his views on published articles over the last 50 years, was felicitated at his residence in the presence of his family.

Renowned author Swami Alphonsus D’Lima, who has written over ten significant books and is known for his deeply reflective writings, was also honoured at his residence.

The academy also visited and felicitated George Mascarenhas, who has long contributed thought-provoking articles to Konkani publications such as Mithr and Zelo, at his home in the presence of his family.

Joining the president on these visits were academy members Naveen Lobo and Dayanand Madkaikar, office staff Mary D'Silva and Jayaprada, and writer Steven Quadros Permude.
