Ahmedabad, Jun 27: Union Home Minister Amit Shah began his day in Gujarat on a spiritual note by participating in the Mangala Aarti at the historic Shri Jagannathji Temple in Jamalpur, Ahmedabad, early Friday morning. His visit comes on the auspicious occasion of the annual Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra, one of the most significant and widely celebrated festivals in the state.

Arriving at the temple at 3:15 am, Shah offered prayers to Mahaprabhu Jagannath during the sacred early morning rituals. Sharing his sentiments on social media platform X, he wrote, “On the sacred occasion of Rath Yatra, participating in the Mangla Aarti at Shri Jagannath Temple, Ahmedabad, is in itself a divine and extraordinary experience. Today, I joined the Mangla Aarti of Mahaprabhu and offered my prayers. May Mahaprabhu continue to bestow His blessings on all.”

The Rath Yatra, featuring a grand chariot procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra through the city streets, draws thousands of devotees each year. In anticipation of the massive turnout, elaborate security arrangements have been put in place across Ahmedabad to ensure the peaceful conduct of the festivities.

Later in the day, Shah is scheduled to visit the INFLIBNET (Information and Library Network) Centre in Gandhinagar at 3:30 pm. There, he will preside over a key review meeting focused on the development and digitization of libraries—an important initiative aimed at bolstering India’s research and educational infrastructure.

Subsequently, at 4:15 pm, the Union Minister will attend the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) meeting at Circuit House, Sector-20, Gandhinagar. The session is expected to review the progress of central schemes and enhance coordination among district officials for effective implementation and governance.

With spiritual engagement and strategic review meetings lined up, Shah’s Gujarat visit underlines a blend of devotion and developmental priorities.
