Grave vandalised in Puttur Christian cemetery; police investigation underway

Puttur, Jun 25: A case has been registered at the Puttur town police station following a complaint about the vandalism of a grave at a Christian cemetery under the jurisdiction of Fr Balthazar Pinto, a religious leader of St Anthony Church, Bannur, located in the Aanemajalu area of Puttur.

According to the complaint filed on June 14, 2025, unidentified miscreants are alleged to have desecrated and damaged one of the graves in the cemetery. In response, officials from the Puttur town police station, including the police inspector, visited the site and conducted an inspection.

An investigation has been launched, and efforts are ongoing to trace the culprits responsible for the act.
