Delhi, Jun 25: In a dramatic rescue operation, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl who was kidnapped from near Jama Masjid metro station on June 23 has been safely reunited with her family.
According to Central District Police, the child had gone missing while playing near gate no. 1 of Jama Masjid Metro Station. Despite frantic efforts by the family and locals, the girl remained untraceable, prompting her parents to approach the Jama Masjid police.

The police launched a swift investigation and scanned CCTV footage from the area. Footage revealed an elderly woman leading the child into the metro station. Further analysis confirmed that the woman had boarded the metro and alighted at Uttam Nagar East station.
Tracking the visuals further, police traced the accused to JJ Colony in Hastsal, Uttam Nagar. The kidnapper, identified as 72-year-old Hasina, was apprehended, and the child was safely recovered from her possession.
Meanwhile, in another kidnapping-related case, the Delhi High Court on Monday, June 23, granted interim protection from arrest to CRPF jawan Bhabani Chib, accused of kidnapping a man.
Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora ordered that the accused not be arrested until the next hearing, provided he cooperates with the investigation. The court directed Chib to appear before the Investigating Officer at 5 pm on June 24 and comply with further summons.
An FIR had been filed at Saket police station based on a complaint by the victim’s wife. The next hearing is scheduled for July 3, with Delhi Police instructed to file a status report two days prior.
