Mumbai, Jun 25: Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has echoed the sentiments of countless fans as she expressed her disbelief over veteran actor Paresh Rawal’s absence from the much-awaited Hera Pheri 3. Known for his iconic portrayal of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, Rawal has been a cornerstone of the franchise’s enduring appeal.

Speaking to IANS, Sonakshi said, “I can't imagine Hera Pheri 3 without Paresh Rawal.” She added that the actor’s presence is vital to retaining the original flavour and humour that made the earlier films such cult classics.

Sonakshi recently had the opportunity to work alongside Rawal in the upcoming supernatural thriller Nikita Roy. Reflecting on the experience, she remarked, “It was such an honour to share screen space with an actor of his calibre. Given his body of work and the talent he brings, it was truly amazing.”

The film is directed by Sonakshi’s brother, Kussh S Sinha, who too praised the veteran actor. In an interaction with ETimes, Kussh shared, “We had just two meetings with Paresh ji and he was on board. That gave me so much confidence.” He added, “He’s an actor every director dreams of working with. He’s spoilt for choice, and 99% of the industry would love to cast him.”

Rumours had earlier suggested that Rawal exited Hera Pheri 3 due to creative differences and monetary disagreements. However, the actor addressed the speculation in May through a post on X (formerly Twitter), setting the record straight.

“I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I reiterate that there are no creative disagreements with the filmmaker. I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr Priyadarshan, the film director,” Paresh Rawal wrote.

As uncertainty continues to cloud the third instalment of the iconic comedy series, fans and industry insiders alike remain hopeful that the beloved ‘Baburao’ might yet return to the silver screen.
