Mangaluru, Jun 24: St Aloysius Pre-University College, renowned for its commitment to holistic education, came alive with vibrant energy as students united to celebrate International Yoga Day with enthusiasm and mindfulness.

The chief guest for the occasion was Kushalappa Gowda N, a seasoned yoga therapist and founder of Avishkar Yoga, Mangaluru. Extending his warm wishes on International Yoga Day, Gowda congratulated the institution for its efforts in raising awareness among youth about the importance of yoga in daily life.

He highlighted the relevance of the day and underscored the growing significance of yoga in improving overall health and lifestyle in today's fast-paced world.

Under his expert guidance, students engaged in a series of asanas, breathing techniques, and relaxation practices, experiencing the essence of yoga firsthand. The session focused on the role of yoga in reducing stress, enhancing emotional balance, and promoting physical and mental well-being.

The primary aim of the programme was to instill in students the value of integrating yoga into their lives as a tool for holistic development.

The event was coordinated by Deepti Murugeshan (Department of Commerce) and Deepthi Rani M K (Department of English), staff in-charges of the Yoga Club. Prapthi L Shetty, student president of the Yoga Club, compered the programme.

The celebration served as a reminder of yoga's transformative power and reaffirmed the college’s commitment to nurturing a balanced, healthy, and conscious student community.
