Bantwal, June 19: Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippady has accused the Congress-led state government of deceiving people in the name of guarantee schemes while simultaneously burdening them with double the taxes on all fronts.
He was speaking after inaugurating the BJP Bantwal Assembly Constituency Executive Committee meeting and the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha held at Sparsha Kalamandira, Bantwal, on Wednesday, June 18.
“It has become necessary to fight against this anti-people Congress government. On June 23, protests will be held in every panchayat across the state. Agitation is nothing new for the BJP—this party was built through struggles, and now, once again, agitation is inevitable,” he said.

He urged party workers to actively join hands in these protests and hold the government accountable. “Currently, it is unclear whether there is even a functioning government in the state. Party workers must respond to the suffering of the poor. In our district alone, nearly 50,000 people have been deprived of government benefits. The party must stand by them,” he added.
Rajesh Naik also said he would sit in protest at Rayi village as per the party’s call and affirmed his commitment as a loyal party worker to fulfil responsibilities and follow the directions given by the leadership.
BJP district president Satish Kumpala, addressing the gathering, alleged that the current government is engaged in extortion. “In Bantwal constituency, notices have been issued to 7,743 beneficiaries regarding the cancellation of pension schemes. It is the duty of party workers to awaken this sleeping government, which has neglected the welfare of the people,” he said.
He added that only by working closely with the people and gaining their trust can a party worker rise as a leader within the BJP.
BJP constituency president R Chennappa Kotian presided over the event.
MLC Prathap Simha Naik, Kishore Kumar Puttur, former MLA K Padmanabha Kottari, party leaders Premananda Shetty, Pooja Pai, campaign district coordinator Harish Kanjipili, Devappa Poojary, Dinesh Amtur, Rakesh Rai Kadenje, Roopa Nitesh Shantivana, Mohan P S, Vijay Rai, Vasant Annalike, Balakrishna Serkala, and Prabhakar Prabhu were present.
Mandal general secretary Sudarshan Baja welcomed the gathering, Shivaprasad Shetty delivered the vote of thanks, and Nagesh Madhva compered the programme.
