Hyderabad, Jun 18: Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s upcoming rural sports drama ‘Peddi’, helmed by director Buchi Babu Sana, has already created waves in the digital space, much before its theatrical release. According to industry sources, the film has sealed an unprecedented OTT deal with global streaming giant Netflix for a staggering Rs 105 crore plus GST, making it one of the highest digital acquisitions for a Telugu film headlined by a solo male star.

The Netflix deal reportedly covers post-theatrical digital rights in all languages, boosting the movie’s pre-release business to historic heights. This marks the highest OTT deal in Ram Charan’s career so far, surpassing previous records set by his earlier projects. The non-theatrical business, which also includes audio, satellite, and other rights, is expected to fetch an additional Rs 75 crore, making it a blockbuster even before hitting the big screen.

With Peddi’s production budget nearly covered by these non-theatrical revenues, the makers have reportedly entered into a profit-sharing agreement for the theatrical collections. Sources say that profits from the box office will be split between the producers and Ram Charan as per a pre-decided formula.

The film, which stars Bollywood diva Janhvi Kapoor opposite Ram Charan, marks her second Telugu outing after Devara with Jr NTR. Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, versatile actors Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu Sharma are also part of this multilingual project.

Ram Charan’s rugged rural avatar and intense sporting sequences have already caught fans' attention, and expectations are sky-high. Slated for a grand release on March 27, Peddi is gearing up to storm both theatres and OTT platforms in style.
