New Delhi, Jun 16: Meta has named Arun Srinivas as the new managing director and head for its India operations, effective July 1. The appointment comes as Sandhya Devanathan, currently the vice president for India and Southeast Asia, takes on a broader regional leadership role.

Srinivas, who currently heads Meta's Ads Business in India, will now lead the company’s overall India charter. His responsibilities include driving business strategy, innovation, and revenue growth, while deepening strategic relationships with leading Indian brands, developers, advertisers, and partners.

“India continues to be at the forefront of economic growth and innovation. Arun’s proven track record makes him the ideal leader to take Meta’s investments in the country to the next level,” said Devanathan, confirming he will continue to report to her.

Srinivas joined Meta in 2020 and has since played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s work with top advertisers and agencies, particularly in areas like artificial intelligence, Reels, and WhatsApp-based messaging.

A post-graduate from IIM Kolkata, Srinivas brings nearly three decades of leadership experience from organisations like Hindustan Unilever, Reebok, OLA, and WestBridge Capital.

Meta is currently focusing on scaling AI adoption and expanding features like Reels and business messaging in India — a market seen as critical to its global growth plans.

"Arun will spearhead Meta’s India strategy and help us build strong local partnerships to drive innovation and impact," the company said in its statement.
