Moodbidri, Jun 9: In a vibrant celebration of faith and renewal, the Corpus Christi Church held its first Pentecost Evening Vigil on Saturday, June. The event drew a large number of faithful from across the region, united in prayer and spiritual expectation.
The vigil commenced with intercessory prayers led by the parish intercession team, who fervently prayed for the intentions of the parishioners. This was followed by the Holy Eucharistic Mass celebrated by Fr Onil D’Souza, setting a sacred tone for the evening.

Br Kevan D’Souza from the Holy Spirit Intercessors team introduced the theme of the vigil with a reflection on the power of the Holy Spirit. Praise and worship were then conducted by Br Elias Cohelo, with Br Maxim Moras leading the congregation in uplifting music that stirred hearts and minds.
The core message of the vigil was powerfully delivered by Fr Onil D’Souza, whose dynamic preaching focused on the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, the renewal of the Church, and personal anointing for mission. The congregation was deeply moved as Fr Onil and Fr Deepak Noronha anointed attendees with the blessing oil.
A profound time of Eucharistic adoration was led by Br Kevan and Br Elias, during which many youths and intercessory members came forward for a special anointing. The atmosphere was filled with joy, reverence, and the palpable presence of the Holy Spirit.
The evening concluded with testimonies of inner healing, spiritual renewal, and bold empowerment to live as witnesses of Christ.
A simple dinner was served to all the attendees.
The vigil served as a powerful reminder of Pentecost’s living fire and its call for Spirit-filled discipleship.
