Washington, Jun 7: Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has sparked fresh speculation in the American political arena with hints of forming a new political party, tentatively called The America Party.
Although Musk has not formally announced the creation of the party, a flurry of posts on his social media platform X has fueled widespread discussion and debate.
In one of his posts, Musk conducted a poll asking users whether the U.S. needed a new political party. He claimed that 80 percent of respondents supported the idea.

“The public has spoken. A new political party is needed in America to represent the 80 percent in the middle! And exactly 80 percent of people agree. This is fate,” Musk wrote.
Following that post, a user suggested the name “America Party,” to which Musk responded:
“The name America Party sounds great. The party that really represents America!”
He followed it up with a succinct post reading simply: “The America Party.”
The timing of Musk’s posts is significant, coming at a moment of heightened tension between him and former ally, President Donald Trump. Once close political partners—Musk attended Trump’s Cabinet meetings, his inauguration, and even headed the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—the two now find themselves at odds.
Musk, who previously campaigned for Trump, has since resigned from the DOGE department and become openly critical of the former president. In one pointed post, he declared:
“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House, and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate… Such ingratitude.”
Trump, on his part, responded with his characteristic bluntness, threatening to revoke subsidies and government contracts awarded to Musk’s companies.
During an Oval Office meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Trump acknowledged the rift publicly for the first time:
“Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore. I’m very disappointed in Elon. I’ve helped Elon a lot.”
As Musk’s latest political maneuvers unfold, America waits to see whether the billionaire entrepreneur’s cryptic hints will translate into a tangible challenge to the country’s two-party system.
