Karkala, Jun 7: Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidyamandir (SSRVM) celebrated World Environment Day with a series of eco-friendly initiatives aimed at fostering environmental awareness among students.
The day began with the school’s regular Guru Pooja, led by Dinesh Kamath, the administrator and advisory consultant.
A highlight of the celebration was the inauguration of the Eco Club by the principal, in the presence of the teaching staff, marking the school’s strong commitment to sustainability and environmental education.

Medicinal plants were planted across the campus, promoting awareness of indigenous herbs. Students also brought plastic waste from home for proper disposal, encouraging the habit of recycling and reducing single-use plastics.
The principal and staff actively participated, inspiring students to adopt eco-conscious practices. A weekly plastic collection drive was also launched to ensure sustained efforts.
With these initiatives, the school continues to nurture environmentally responsible citizens for a greener future.
