Mysuru, Jun 5: The second day of the novena devotion leading up to the Annual Feast of St Anthony of Padua was observed with great faith and reverence on June 5 at St Anthony's Basilica, Dornahalli, Mysuru.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by most rev Dr Thomas A Vazhapilly, bishop emeritus of the diocese of Mysore. He was joined by Fr David Sagayaraj, rector of St Anthony's Basilica, and Fr Praveen Pedru, administrator of the Basilica.
The theme for the day's Novena was 'Hope is the Way of Liberation', highlighting the power of faith and perseverance in overcoming life’s challenges. The Bishop, in his homily, reflected on the transformative strength of hope and encouraged the faithful to trust in the intercession of St Anthony during times of distress and uncertainty.
















Following the Mass, the Novena prayers were held in honour of St Anthony, invoking his special intercession for the various intentions and needs of the devotees. The celebration concluded with the Procession of the Holy Statue of St Anthony, followed by the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, leaving the faithful spiritually uplifted.
