Haridwar, Jun 5: A former BJP office-bearer in Haridwar and her boyfriend have been arrested on charges of allegedly allowing the woman's 13-year-old daughter to be sexually abused by her partner and others. Police are currently searching for another individual implicated in the case.
The victim, a minor girl, reported to her father that her mother was complicit in the abuse. According to Paramendra Doval, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Haridwar, "The girl was taken for a medical checkup, and her charges were confirmed. Strict action will be taken against those involved in the matter."

A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other pertinent legal sections. The accused woman was separated from her husband, and her daughter resided with her father. The horrific allegations surfaced when the minor confided in her father, leading to a police investigation and medical examination confirming the abuse.
The BJP's Haridwar unit has publicly distanced itself from the accused. Ashutosh Sharma, the BJP district president, stated, "She had been relieved of all party responsibilities last August. At present, she holds no BJP post."
