Day 5 of Tredicina at St Anthony Ashram Jeppu urges faithful to uplift one another in Hope

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 4: The fifth day of the Tredicina devotion in preparation for the feast of St Anthony of Padua unfolded with renewed zeal and a deep sense of community at St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu, and St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church, on Wednesday, June 4.

The theme for the day, ‘Strengthen one another’s hope and journey as Pilgrims of Hope,’ invited the faithful to become instruments of encouragement and support to those around them, especially the suffering, lonely, and broken-hearted.

At Milagres Church, the 6:00 pm novena Mass was celebrated by Fr Jagadish Pinto, diocesan procurator, diocese of Mangalore. In his homily, Fr Pinto reflected on the Christian responsibility to uplift and inspire one another, drawing strength from the example of St Anthony who brought comfort and healing to those in despair. He emphasised that sharing hope is a powerful expression of God’s love in today’s world.

The Mass was concelebrated by Fr J B Crasta, director of St Anthony’s Charitable Institutions, and Fr Gilbert D’Souza, Chaplain of the Ashram.

Following the Eucharistic celebration Fr Gilbert D’Souza led the novena prayers, offering special intentions and petitions at the feet of St Anthony, the Miracle Worker. Devotees united their voices in prayer, seeking healing, peace, and miracles through the saint’s intercession.

As in previous days, the Ashram at Jeppu continued to be a centre of prayer and charity, with Masses at 6:00 am and 11:30 am, followed by the serving of free meals to all devotees.
