Udupi, Jun 3: Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, Udupi in association with ISTE student chapter and IEEE student branch organised a workshop on Cloud Monitoring, Applications and Public cloud APIs for the benefit of students recently.

The workshop began with an introduction to cloud computing fundamentals and the architecture of Google Cloud. Participants were introduced to core GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and App Engine. The session emphasised the importance of cloud monitoring and explored how GCP helps in managing and maintaining cloud resources efficiently.

The most engaging part of the workshop was the hands-on session on Google Cloud APIs. Participants were taught how to use GCP's REST APIs to automate tasks such as creating VM instances, managing storage buckets, and retrieving system metrics.

Gautam N Shet (alumnus of SMVITM) and Vaibhav Salian, both working as cloud associate - customer engineering in Niveus Solution Limited Udupi were the resource persons for the workshop.

Dr Soumya J Bhat, head, dept of CSE, Raghavendra Hegde, sr asst professor, department of CSE, were present during the event.
