Puttur, May 30: A diesel tanker heading from Mangaluru to Tamil Nadu overturned near Gundya in Shiradi village on Thursday, after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The mishap occurred along the highway stretch passing through the Shiradi Ghat region. The tanker, which was transporting diesel, veered off the road and toppled onto its side. Although the vehicle suffered significant damage, the driver miraculously escaped without any injuries.

A minor diesel leak was observed from the tanker, but timely response prevented any major hazard. Since the overturned vehicle landed on the roadside, traffic movement on the highway remained unaffected.

Upon receiving information, officers from the Uppinangady police station arrived at the spot and conducted an inspection.
