Vakkam, May 27: In a tragic discovery on Tuesday morning, a family of four was found dead by hanging at their residence in Vakkam, police confirmed. The victims have been identified as 55-year-old Anilkumar, his 50-year-old wife Sheeja, and their two adult sons, both in their twenties.

The grim discovery was made when concerned neighbours, having noticed that none of the family members had left the house, forced entry and found the bodies. “At first glance, this appears to be a suicide,” said a local police official, who noted that no suicide note has yet been recovered.

Investigators believe financial distress may have driven the patriarch to take this drastic step. “Preliminary inquiries indicate that Anilkumar was under significant economic strain,” the officer added. A thorough probe is now underway to confirm the motive and sequence of events leading to the deaths.

Authorities have sealed off the scene and are conducting detailed examinations, including forensic analysis and interviews with neighbours and relatives, to rule out any foul play. The police have urged anyone with information to come forward as they piece together the circumstances of this heartbreaking incident.
