Udupi, May 26: A vibrant celebration of food, culture, and community spirit lit up the coastal town of Malpe as the Malpe Food Street Utsav was held on Sunday, May 25, at Malpe Food Street, near the Malpe Fish Trade Centre.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Udupi Group of Institution, Manipal, and attracted large crowds from across the Udupi district. Visitors were treated to a delightful Sunday evening filled with food, fun, and entertainment.

The Utsav featured a wide range of food stalls, offering everything from live ice cream counters, chats varieties, MFC chicken, tandoori delicacies, Chinese dishes, juices, dosas, and a special live fish fry counter, all under a covered space, making it enjoyable even during rain.

One of the highlights of the event was ‘Ninaada’ Hejje Gejjegala Milana, a cultural programme presented by students of Udupi Group of Institution. The show included energetic dance performances, a fashion show, a traditional Tulu drama, and a lively DJ night. A karaoke session added to the musical mood of the evening.

Adding to the excitement were fun games and a special contest for social media enthusiasts, where the best reel maker of the day was rewarded.

Avinash Poojary, Partner of Malpe Food Street, said, “The Malpe Food Street Utsav was planned to offer a unique combination of food and entertainment. We collaborated with the Udupi Group of Institution to host a variety of cultural programs like a fashion show, tiger dance, Tulu drama, karaoke, and a DJ night. Despite the rain, the festive mood continued as all food stalls were under a covered area, creating a lively atmosphere. People from across Udupi district turned up in large numbers, making it a truly memorable Sunday evening. Even if you missed the Utsav, Malpe Food Street is always open, offering a wide range of dishes including pure vegetarian, chats, MFC chicken, tandoori, Chinese, juices, dosa, and live fish fry.
