Odisha CM launches Rs 1.15 lac cr industrial projects, creates 36,000 jobs

Jajpur, May 22: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 24 industrial projects totaling Rs 1.15 lac cr investment, expected to generate 36,000 jobs.

Key projects include Tata Steel’s Rs 47,599 cr expansion of its 5 MTPA steel plant at Kalinga Nagar, creating 4,625 jobs, and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited’s Rs 61,769 cr steel plant expansion, expected to generate 14,000 jobs.

Other projects include JSL Group’s petroleum and solar power venture, Jatia Steel’s rebar mill, and Abis Exports’ poultry feed plant. Several foreign companies from Germany, Japan, the UK, and the US also announced investments in steel, chemicals, and manufacturing units.

Majhi emphasized Odisha’s rapid industrial growth and commitment to creating job opportunities. The expansions aim to bring advanced technology, boost MSMEs, and strengthen Odisha’s position as a top investment destination.

The event was attended by state ministers and Jajpur MP Rabindra Narayan Behera.
