Mumbai, May 14: The trailer for the upcoming horror-comedy ‘Kapkapiii’ dropped on Wednesday, offering a mix of ghostly gags, supernatural chaos, and laugh-out-loud moments. Starring Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor, the film is helmed by the late Sangeeth Sivan, marking one of his final directorial ventures.
The trailer introduces a quirky gang of friends who inadvertently open a paranormal Pandora’s box while experimenting with an Ouija board. What follows is a riot of haunted hijinks, as eerie events spiral into a hilarious rollercoaster of possessions, spooky blunders, and comic frights.
The on-screen reunion of Kapoor and Talpade rekindles the chemistry that fans remember fondly from previous collaborations, infusing the film with a mix of nostalgia and slapstick charm. Their timing and camaraderie breathe life into a story that toes the line between fear and farce.
“Kapkapiii is filled with love, emotion, and laughter,” Tusshar Kapoor said during the trailer launch. “It’s even more special as it’s a tribute to Sangeeth ji, who was so passionate about this project. I’m thrilled to reunite with my co-stars and to present something truly heartfelt to audiences.”
Blending spooky elements with off-the-wall comedy, ‘Kapkapiii’ carries the zany energy of Sivan’s earlier cult hits like Kya Kool Hain Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money. The screenplay by Saurabh Anand and Kumar Priyadarshi keeps the tone light, fast-paced, and gleefully absurd.
Backed by Bravo Entertainment’s Jayesh Patel and Umesh Kumar Bansal, and presented by Zee Studios, the film also features a supporting cast including Sonia Rathee, Siddhi Idnani, Abishek Kumar, Jay Thakkar, Varun Pandey, Dherendra Tiwari, and Dinkar Sharma.
‘Kapkapiii’ hits theatres on May 23, promising a delightfully absurd escape into a haunted house where nothing – and no one – is quite what they seem.
