Mumbai, May 13: Anurag Kashyap’s heartwarming production Little Thomas is making waves internationally, bagging three prestigious nominations at the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2025 — a proud moment for Indian cinema.

The film has received nods in top categories: Best Actor for Rasika Dugal and Gulshan Devaiah, and Best Director for Kaushal Oza. Set in the picturesque backdrop of 1990s Goa, Little Thomas explores the tender journey of a seven-year-old boy who sets out to reunite his estranged parents with love and innocence.

Rasika Dugal, who essays the role of Jessie Miranda, expressed joy over the film’s recognition. “Playing Jessie was truly enjoyable. This film has a big heart, and it’s gratifying to see it resonate with a global audience. Film festival viewers are some of the most discerning, and I look forward to hearing their thoughts,” she shared.

For Gulshan Devaiah, known for his intense and diverse roles, Little Thomas marked a refreshing departure. “This is the sweetest film I’ve done in my 15-year journey. While awards are not what I work for, it feels nice to be recognised for a film that was such a heartfelt experience,” he reflected.

With the direction of Kaushal Oza also being lauded, Little Thomas is emerging as a festival favourite. The nominations at NYIFF are expected to boost the film's visibility ahead of its global screening.

As anticipation builds, audiences await the screening with high hopes for this simple yet soulful story that celebrates love, family, and second chances — through the innocent eyes of Little Thomas
