Odisha CM Majhi lauds armed forces for precision strikes in ‘Operation Sindoor’

Bhubaneshwar, May 7: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday praised the valour and precision of the Indian Armed Forces for their successful execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’, which saw India carry out airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The airstrikes, launched in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 innocent tourists on April 22, targeted nine high-value locations linked to terror outfits operating from across the border.

Taking to social media, CM Majhi wrote:

“India stands united. Salute to our brave Armed Forces for the precision and resolve shown in #OperationSindoor. Every strike on terror is a message — we will not tolerate threats to our sovereignty.”

Majhi invoked the symbolic value of “sindoor,” stating it represents sacrifice and unwavering resolve in Indian culture.

“The same sentiment is in the minds of our soldiers. India is no longer just defending — but resolutely moving to root out terrorism,” he added.

Backing the Chief Minister’s sentiment, Odisha Deputy CM K.V. Singh Deo also hailed the Armed Forces, calling the strikes a "clear message" to enemies of the nation.

“India stands firm in its commitment to sovereignty and security… The courage and sacrifice of our forces embody the spirit of a strong and united India. We remain steadfast in our mission to safeguard every inch of our motherland,” said Singh Deo.

Launched in response to the ghastly attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor was a swift and precise retaliation, aimed at logistical hubs and camps run by terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

According to official sources:

• 24 missile strikes were carried out across nine locations,

• More than 70 terrorists, including top commanders, were neutralised,

• The strikes were conducted in under one hour, with real-time UAV footage confirming the destruction of targets.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were reportedly in constant communication with military commanders during the high-stakes operation.

Defence analysts believe the operation marks a shift in India’s strategic doctrine, opting for deep strikes into Pakistani-administered territory — a move interpreted as a clear warning against harbouring terror elements.
