Ranchi, May 6: In a significant political outreach, the Congress Party is set to stage a massive ‘Save Constitution’ rally in Ranchi today, aiming to galvanise public sentiment around the safeguarding of constitutional values in India.

The rally will be held at the historic Old Assembly Ground, with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge leading the charge. He will be joined by a host of senior leaders including K C Venugopal, General Secretary (Organization), and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in what the party describes as a show of strength and resolve.

Speaking ahead of the rally, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh said the event marks a turning point for the Congress' grassroots mobilisation in the state. "This is more than a political rally; it is a public declaration of our unwavering commitment to uphold the Constitution of India," Kamlesh said during a press briefing.

Highlighting the urgency of the cause, the Congress alleged that the Constitution—India’s foundational pillar of democracy—is facing existential threats. “It is the responsibility of every citizen to rise in its defence,” party leaders said in a joint statement.

Following today’s public rally, the party will convene a state-level organisational meeting, where internal strategies and structural strengthening of the party in Jharkhand will be discussed.

The JPCC has also announced plans to extend the campaign across the state. Similar ‘Save Constitution’ rallies will be organised in various districts in the coming weeks, with dates to be finalised soon.

The Congress leadership hopes that the rally will not only ignite awareness among the masses but also re-energise the party's base ahead of key electoral battles in Jharkhand and beyond.
