Mangaluru, May 5: The 10-day residential summer camp 'Kazoll' (Eye Liner) organized by Mandd Sobhann concluded at Kalaangann on May 4.
The chief guest, Dr Venissa AC, principal of St Agnes College, distributed certificates to the campers and wished them well. She remarked, "It is exhausting to conduct a camp for even a couple of days, but organizing a 10-day residential camp is an extraordinary achievement. This camp has emphasized the importance of Konkani, our mother tongue. Coming from different places, here you have learned to understand each other and cultivate a team spirit. May this experience assist you in your future. I wish you and Mandd Sobhann the very best."






























During the event, Riyona D'Souza Kelarai (Best Student - Konkani), Prinshal Pereira Kulsekhar (Best Student - Dance), Ciyona D'Cunha Kulshekar (Best Student - Drama), Aston Lester Fernandes Ammunje (Best Student - Singing), Angel D'Souza Mukka (Best Camper / Emerging Talent) were recognized and awarded.
They received cash prizes and certificates sponsored by Renver Dsouza. The best student award winners received Rs 3,500 each, while the best camper / emerging talent was awarded Rs 6,000, along with certificates.
The president of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, Joachim Stany Alvares, honored the resource persons. Among the distinguished guests present on stage were Ronald Mendonca Mumbai, Mandd Sobhann gurkar Eric Ozario, vice president Naveen Lobo, and secretary Keron Madtha. This year’s camp was conducted in honour of Noreen Mendonca.
Later, the children showcased a cultural performance as part of the 281st Monthly Theatre, where they presented songs and dances they had learned during the camp. This was followed by the play 'Chintu Tailor – Chaddi Specialist', translated by ArunRaj Rodrigues and directed by Vikas Kalakul.
