New Delhi, May 3: BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra launched a scathing attack on the Congress Party on Saturday, accusing it of demoralising the Indian armed forces and indirectly aligning with Pakistan's narrative through its political rhetoric.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Patra targeted Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi for questioning the 2019 surgical strikes following the Pulwama terror attack. Patra called this “not just irresponsible but dangerous,” and suggested the Congress was aiding Pakistan by undermining national security.
“In appearance it may be the Congress Working Committee (CWC), but internally it functions like a Pakistan Working Committee (PWC),” Patra said, coining a provocative analogy.

He also pointed to recent remarks in Pakistan's Parliament, where a senator reportedly praised Indian opposition parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party and the Samajwadi Party, for criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi rather than condemning terrorism.
Patra accused Congress of providing “oxygen” to terrorism and demanded an explanation for what he described as actions that compromise national interest and embolden enemy narratives.
