Mangaluru, Jan 22: Based on a private complaint accepted by the Hon’ble Court, the Mangaluru city police have registered a case against the directors of a Bengaluru-based private company and two unidentified individuals, for allegations of fraud, false claims, and criminal intimidation.

The complainant, Vithesh V Kotian, son of Vinod B Kotian, residing at Star Flex Laminators Pvt Ltd, Baikampady, Mangaluru, is engaged in the manufacture of food packaging materials. According to the complaint, the accused—Siddappa Jayakaran and Jayashekar Joy, directors of Shree PLA Pvt. Ltd., Machohalli Gate, Bengaluru—had business dealings with the complainant, supplying raw materials for his enterprise.

The complaint states that during the COVID-19 period, disputes arose between the two parties. The accused allegedly filed a civil suit falsely claiming Rs 1.65 crore instead of the actual disputed amount of Rs 1.15 crore. They also obtained a property attachment order from the court. However, the complainant had already sold the attached property to a third party, causing complications and inconvenience for the buyer due to the court’s order.

Further, the complainant alleged that six months ago, the accused called and threatened him, demanding Rs 2 crore to settle the matter.

A case has been registered at Panambur police station, and the investigation is underway.
