Udupi, Apr 20: A complaint is filed by Surendra Shetty, owner of Sahana Estate against a social media website and people who are weaving false stories about K Jayaprakash Hegde, Congress Lok Sabha candidate for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency and trying to break the harmony between two religious communities.
Prakash Handottu, Sanjit Kotian, Vastava and Ganskar N, in addition to accused of Kesari Brigade social media group have posted on their Facebook account accusing J P Hegde and saying, “Rajarama Servegara who was killed in Brahmavar in 1995 was a BJP worker. Who is the Muslim police officer who supported the politician who got Rajaram killed? We do not want appeasement politician J P. BJP, which gives strength to Hindutva in Udupi and Chikkamagaluru is our choice.”
The accused, in addition to sending these false messages, are sending a video with the photo of Rajaram Servegar to others from their Facebook accounts. In that video the accused have maligned the name of K Jayaprakash Hegde. They are trying to create rift between two religious communities. Hence, the complainant has asked the police to take stringent action against the accused in a written complaint.
A complaint under IPC 505 (2) column 66 C, and 66 O IT act is filed against the accused in Kundapur police station.
