Kundapur, Mar 5: Lamp lighting ceremony, and an oath-taking programme, the first step in nursing education was held in Moodlakatte College of Nursing, on February 29.
The chief guest Dr Premananda K, taluk health officer, Kundapur, guest of honour Prof Mohan S, principal Ashrit School and College of Nursing, Kota and Prof Fasal Rahman M T, Moodlakatte education institute secretary, Prof Jennifer Frieda Menezes, principal, Moodlakatte College of Nursing and Prof Rupashree K S vice principal, Moodlakatte College of Nursing inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Prof Jennifer Frieda Menezes, principal Moodlakatte Nursing College recite the oath taking ceremony by reciting Florence Nightingale's Pledge of Allegiance, love, commitment, compassion, dedication and discipline to serve.
The chief guest Dr Premananda K said, “Nurses should maintain patient's rights and privacy while serving. We should first strengthen the foundation of our education and become a guide to others by proudly developing their dedication and service spirit.”
The guest of honour Prof Mohan S spoke about the journey of Florence Nightingale and the significance of the day.
The vice principal Prof Rupashree K S welcomed. Assistant lecturer Rakshita proposed vote of thanks. Assistant professor Velmera Dias moderated the programme. College staff, nursing students and parents participated in the programme.
