Kadaba: Trees fall on two cars due to heavy rains

Kadaba, May 30: Two roadside trees fell on two cars on the night of Monday due to heavy rain with high velocity wind at Nettana of the taluk. Both cars are badly damaged. Vehicular traffic also got affected.

The incident occurred near the central timber warehouse of Nettana. Some huge trees fell on the road due to the high velocity winds. The trees fell on Nano and Omni vehicles that were passing by. The tree fell on the roof of the car. The passenger and driver escaped.

The trees were removed with the help of locals, police, forest, fire service and PWD personnel. It is learnt that both the cars that were damaged belonged to tourists. Locals have urged the forest department to cut the trees that are dangerously bent on the road in this area to prevent more mishaps of this nature during monsoon.
