Udupi: Man conned Rs two lac on pretext of providing Mudra loan

Udupi, Nov 26: A man was cheated to the tune of Rs two lac on the pretext of providing Mudra loan.

Sathish Jain received a call from a stranger, who introduced himself as the manager of Mudra. He offered to give Sathish a Mudra loan. He got all the documents needed for Mudra loan and also asked Sathish to pay Rs 3200 as registration fee.

After Sathish paid Rs 3200, the strangers asked him to pay process charge, insurance charges, NOC expenses and RBI tax. Sathish Jain paid Rs 2,38,420 from November 3 to 11 in different phases.

A case in this regard is filed in CEN police station.

    normally the practice is to debit loan related fees/charges to the loan account itself... there is no need to pay separately.... suppose a person is taking loan of 20000 and bank's processing fee is 2000/- bank will debit 2000 to the loan account... so that the loan amount becomes 20000+ 2000, i.e. 22000....
