Karnataka to host 61st National Open Athletic Championship Meet

Bengaluru, Sep 27: The 61st National Open Athletic Championship meet will be held in Bengaluru from October 15 to 19 under the auspices of the Karnataka Athletics Association.

Addressing the media persons on the five-day national open athletic championship meet, Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan said a wide range of 47 athletic events will be held.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will be inaugurating the athletic meet while Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot will be presiding over the valedictory function and distributing the prizes, the minister said in Bengaluru on Tuesday, September 27.

Noted sportsperson Anju Bobby George and State Athletics Association’s Purushotham and Rajveer were present.
