BASIL MONIS (77), retired development office, LIC of India, of Bantakal, husband of Gracy Maria, and father of Hilda / Antony, Ida / Diony, Veeda / Maurice, Lidwin / Vincent, Vincent / Veena, Pramila / Peter, the late Premnath, and Sharmila / Stany, passed away on April 14. Funeral cortege leaves residence 'Vandana', Bantakal for the Church of the Holy Cross, Shantipura-Pamboor, at 10-00 am on Friday, April 15.

Monis had earlier served as a teacher at the Shri Durgaparameshwari School, Bantakal for a period of 18 years and was appointed as the headmaster of the school. Late, he served the LIC of India as developent officer at Santebennur and Moodbidrifor 16 years. Monis also served as the secretary of the Catholic Sabha of Shirva region and was a member of the Bantakallu Yuvaka Mandali. He was also active in Rotary and Lions clubs. He was one of the founder trustees of Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Centre, Pamboor and was serving as its treasurer.
THOMAS MATHIAS (89), of Moodubelle, husband of the late Remeza, father of Sr Mary Mathias FMM, Marcel / Rita, Stella / AVitus, and Richard / Anita, passed away on April 13. Funeral cortege leaves residence 'Prakash', Kukkunje for the Church of Mount Rosary, Kallianpur at 3-30 pm on Friday, April 15.
