Sister Mary Verena of Jesus Crucified (93), passed away on Monday March 23, 2009 the 71st year of her Religious Profession and 93rd year of her life, at Bethany Mother House, Bendur, Mangalore.

Funeral rites will be held at Bethany Mother House Chapel, Bendur, Mangalore on Tuesday March 24 at 3.30 pm.

The demise of our dearest aunt is a great loss to us, the Bethany community and society at large. Living for others being her Motto, Aunt Varena was treasured by all of us and she in return loved each one of us in a very special way. Can we ever stop mourning for her.... she has left such beautiful memories of touching with love even the littlest member of her family. We thank the Bethany Superior and her community for their constant love, prayers and medical care for her. Scattered as we are across the globe, few of us had the opportunity to personally interact with her during her hour of need. But our prayers were always there for her. All the same, now that she had earned her rightful place in paradise, we pray to her to keep on interceding for us in our hours on need. We love you Aunt, and will always love you and keep your memory alive through our prayers! May You Rest in Peace!
