Bangalore, Jul 17: Fr Felix Aloysius Pinto, son of late John Baptist Pinto, and Mary Magdalene Sequeira of Bejai, Mangalore, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, in the morning, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Clergy Home in the city.
Fr Pinto, who served in the Archdiocese of Bangalore since 1951 in various capacities before retiring in 1998, was born on January 14, 1922 at Kapikad, Kottara Cross, Bejai, Mangalore.
After his schooling, he joined the Bangalore archdiocese and pursued his seminary studies at St Peter’s Seminary, Bangalore. He was ordained on December 17, 1950, at St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral by Archbishop Thomas Pothacamury.
His funeral will take place at 10.30 am on Thursday, July 17, at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery on Richmond Road. The public can pay homage to Fr Pinto at the church from 9.00 am onwards.
The Bangalore Archdiocese expressed its gratitude to Fr Pinto for his faithful services. Dr Bernard Moras, archbishop of Bangalore, has requested all priests of the archdiocese to offer three masses for the repose of the soul of Fr Pinto.
