Clara Furtado (80), "Kallu Teacher", wife of the late Benedict Furtado of Brahmagiri, Udupi, and mother of Joyce (+ Edwin = Jeevith and Justine), Juliet ( + Theobold = Benita and Prinita), John ( + Elveena = Janice) , Jacintha ( + David = Merwin and Disha) and Fr Gerald Furtado SJ of Belgaum, passed away on January 30, 2008 at 9.30 pm.

Funeral cortege leaves residence at Brahmagiri for Mother of Sorrows Church , Udupi at 3.30 pm on Friday, February 1, 2008, followed by mass at 4 pm.
